“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21

The words above were spoken by Jesus. He lived in oneness with His Father and prayed every day for His perfect wisdom. Jesus entered into life while on the earth. He traveled, dined, and enjoyed time with His disciples. He stayed in the homes of many people considered outcasts of society to teach the values of God and perform miracles. 

Jesus set the example for prioritizing the treasures of the heart. We are to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all the other things of life will be added.

We all have a lot of passions so how do we keep the order of Jesus in our lives. The spiritual discipline is to pray, read the Bible and listen for the voice of Jesus. But this is not enough to have pure motives and make good decisions.

The answer is to submit to the authority of the Holy Spirit. He is the life of Jesus and alive in all believers. The Holy Spirit will keep you on track with Jesus and reveal any thoughts or actions that grieve the heart of Jesus. He speaks to Christians through the mind of Christ. Invite the Holy Spirit to have authority over your life and you will hear His voice and live in His presence.

Seek the counsel of Jesus in all your decision making. Spontaneous decisions without inquiring of Jesus usually lead to disaster.

We live in the End Times and the other factor that can upset your relationship with Jesus is the tactics of Satan. 

Pray for protection and wisdom in dealing with Satan. He is out to destroy a believer so take this threat seriously. The method to defeat Satan is to pray the blood of Christ over you and strongly remind Satan he has been defeated by the death of Jesus and must flee from your life.

When in doubt take every thought captive to the obedience of Jesus. He will discern truth from evil!

We can’t be perfect but we can have an open heart to change and conform to the values of Jesus!
