2 Chronicles 20;15
Good Morning, this is the second installment dealing with the theme “Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord!” This miracle can happen to you today! God never changes!
This is a story about King Jehoshaphat who ruled in Judah. The king loved God and did many good works to bring glory to God. He also made many reforms and taught the people how to follow the laws of God. He was favored by God and became very wealthy and honored by all his people.
Then adversity approached with three enemy nations converging to destroy his kingdom.
Jehoshaphat immediately called all the people to fast and pray.
The king said we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.
Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel, the prophet. He said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
Jahaziel instructed King Jehoshaphat to go down against them the next day. He said they surely will come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. He said you will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord who is with you.
The King appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of His holiness, as they went out before the army and were singing to God.
“Praise the Lord,
For His mercy endures forever.”
The Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir and they were all defeated.
This is a great reminder of how Jesus is a powerful and faithful God.
When adversity strikes ask Jesus to fight your battle!
