“Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of desire. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.” Ecclesiastes 6:9
Meandering means taking a winding or indirect course not grounded in Jesus.
This happens because Christians respond to their emotions and desires. They slip away from Jesus to pursue directions that are not of Him.
Jesus has a perfect plan today for a believer. This can be found through prayer, reading the Bible, and listening for the voice of Jesus.
Jesus desires to have a personal and embracing relationship with a believer built on faith and obedience.
The method to avoid meandering is to submit to the authority of the Holy Spirit and He will keep a believer in oneness with Jesus.
It is not by might nor by strength but by My Spirit.
King David meandered away from God and had sex with a married woman. Then he arranged to kill her husband so he could have the woman as his wife.
David paid a steep price for his immoral actions. God brought a calamity upon him by taking away his wives and giving them to a close friend. God said your friend will sleep with your wives in broad daylight.
God also said your son who you love and came from your relationship with Bathsheba will die.
The spiritual principle is meandering away from God will bring His wrath and judgments.
Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ Jesus!
