The sabotage of Satan is destroyed by Jesus!

“So it happened when Sanballat heard that we were building the wall he was furious and very indignant, and mocked the Jews.” Nehemiah 4/1

Today we are dealing with the subject of sabotage which is described as spiritual warfare in the Bible.

Sabotage is a plan to intentionally damage, wreck, or block something, to stop it from working or succeeding.

It is a deliberate attempt by Satan to steal, kill and destroy.

Satan hears every word you speak and knows all your weaknesses.

Nehemiah is a perfect example of how he fought off the attacks of Satan. As a believer we need to be alert and prepared for the tactics of Satan.

Nehemiah was commissioned to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem and to make reforms in Israel.

Sanballat and Tobiah, enemies of Israel conspired to destroy the work of Nehemiah and his people.

Nehemiah took these steps to protect his people and finish the rebuilding of the wall.

He prayed to God and set a watch against the enemies day and night.

He positioned men in strategic places and told the people to arm with swords, spears, and bows.

He spoke to the leaders and said do not be afraid. The Lord is great and awesome, and will fight for your families and homes.

He instructed half of the workers to do construction and the other half to defend Jerusalem with their weapons.

He said the work is great and extensive, and we are separated far from one another on the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally together. Our God will fight for us.

He also said that each man and his servant must stay overnight in Jerusalem so that they may be our guard by night and a working party by day.

Sanballat and Tobiah were never able to raid Jerusalem because of God’s protection and the defensive instructions of Nehemiah.

Like Nehemiah, we must pray for wisdom and strategy to defeat Satan. Your greatest weapon is the blood of Jesus. Satan is terrified of the blood of the Lamb.

We fight spiritual warfare with prayer citing verses like “No weapon formed against me will prosper” or “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony”.

We put on the full armor of God and speak directly to Satan with the words of Malachi 3:11.

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field.”
