Trying to be squeaky clean with Jesus will never work!

“And be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith” Philippians 3:9

The Holy Spirit spoke to me this morning about self righteousness. Many Christians try to be right with God through an intellectual discipline, obeying laws, or they adopt a feeling they are morally above others with God.

The weak and beggarly elements of the law cause spiritual bondage in a believer. He is stranded from Jesus.

This religious attitude is not of God and will bring condemnation and distancing from Jesus.

The truth is there is no godly righteousness in a human being. We are all born with an inner nature to defy God and live for self. Religion cannot fix this problem.

God wants nothing to do with your inner nature at birth. Every human being is contaminated with no way to get clean except through a new life with Jesus.

Jesus knows a believer better than he knows himself. He sees inside his personality and character. He is unacceptable to Jesus in his human form.

The “born again” life and new identity comes by making a decision to live for Jesus by faith and is an agreement to die to self and live for Jesus.

The righteousness of Jesus is a gift from the Holy Spirit. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit who is the life of Jesus.

We access the Spirit by faith and submit to His authority. He will convict a believer and transform him into the character of Jesus.

Jesus has no interest in religion. He desires to have a personal and symbiotic relationship with a believer built on faith and obedience.

The definition of symbiotic is a mutually beneficial relationship between two parties—Jesus and a believer. They each have responsibilities in this partnership.

Jesus has given up His life so a believer and can have the gift of salvation. The believer is obligated to seek the perfect will of Jesus for His life through prayer, reading the Bible, and listening for the voice of Jesus.

He is instructed to walk in oneness with Jesus aligned with the Holy Spirit.

The holiness in a believer comes by faith in Jesus and through the filling of the Holy Spirit!
