Giving into troubles or asking Jesus to fight your battles for you!

“A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself; The simple pass on and are punished.” Proverbs 27:12

For many people the last thing they do is ask Jesus for help with their troubles. This is a dangerous and fatal mindset. I found out in my mid thirties Jesus was the most important person in my life and I needed to be with Him in all the moments of life.

We all have to deal with troubles. They are inevitable. This Proverb was spoken to me this morning. It is about how to deal with troubles from a spiritual point of view.

There are two options explained in the teaching of this Proverb.

The non believer or nominal Christian does not abide in oneness with Jesus.

They do not seek the Holy Spirit for wisdom or are forewarned of troubles.

They have an attitude of inevitable defeat and accepting the punishment. They are oblivious to the tactics of Satan to steal, kill and destroy.

The Christ follower prays and is warned by the Holy Spirit of coming troubles. He hides himself in the protection and wisdom of Jesus. He does not accept evil because of the promises of Jesus. He believes Jesus brings victory and deliverance.

The Holy Spirit will warn believers of coming troubles and provide wisdom for fighting off the dangers. Here is a perfect example!

Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, was warned of three enemy nations coming to destroy His kingdom.

The first thing the King did was to instruct all to pray and fast for the protection of God.

The King said we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.

The Spirit of the Lord spoke through Jahaziel and prophesied “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

The Holy Spirit instructed Jehoshaphat’s army where to position themselves and to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you. The victory was won by God, the enemies were destroyed and Judah was safe.

The Holy Spirit is your most valuable weapon in dealing with troubles. He will give you perfect wisdom for overcoming troubles.

Walk in oneness with Jesus by faith and listen for His voice. Salvation is living in the presence and reality of Jesus.
