“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
The purpose of Jesus is to take a mere mortal and transform him into the character of the Most High.
All humans were born with an inner nature that God despises. He even took extreme measures to wipe out all civilization except for eight people. God does not want anything to do with your natural life at birth because it is contaminated.
The only viable solution to God was to create a new creature in Christ who has the personality and values of Jesus. This is not an easy or quick remedy.
We are born to satisfy self and are ego driven people. In contrast, Jesus has no ego and operates with unconditional love for all.
The human being must be “born again” by the Water and Spirit. The Water forgives sin and the Spirit baptizes a believer into the work of the Cross. The ultimate goal is to die to self and live for Jesus.
The unbeliever becomes a new creature in Christ and then the heavy sculpting begins.
The gift of salvation is designed so the Christian and can do good works and be a powerful light for Jesus.
God prepared the plan of salvation thousands of years ago and desires Christians to walk in oneness with Jesus exhibiting His values.
Here is the problem! Many believers don’t take Jesus seriously or they jump into religion to please God.
They make a decision for Jesus but fit Him into their life without interfering with their independence or goals.
Or they pursue religion. They do works, keep laws, and obey regulations mistakenly thinking they are doing the workmanship of Jesus.
The beginning of the gift of salvation is to develop a personal and symbiotic relationship with Jesus built on faith and obedience. This supersedes religion and works.
It is impossible to be a powerful witness for Jesus until you know His ways, hear His voice and walk with Him under the authority of the Holy Spirit.
This sculpting takes place through prayer, reading the Bible and listening for the voice of Jesus.
We learn how to walk by faith and become obedient to Jesus through the Holy Spirit. He refines our motives and convicts of compulsive behaviors. This is a painful and difficult process of learning how to do His workmanship.
Commit your works each day to Jesus and stay grounded in the Holy Spirit. For in Him, we live and move and have our being!
