“For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me”. Jeremiah 13:11
God caused the cities of Israel and Judah to cling to God through the promises given to Abraham. The Israelites considered Abraham to be like a god.
Jesus many years later in His ministry on earth said before Abraham was, I am. This infuriated the religious leaders.
On Mount Sinai God said if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. But the Israelites blew it!
God created a holy covenant with the Israelites. He said they must reflect the renown, praise and glory of God.
But the Israelites refused to listen and their country was destroyed and the people were scattered to pagan nations.
The Israelites would not listen or obey God.
This is the same situation today. We don’t take Jesus seriously. We hear what is acceptable to our lifestyle and filter out the rest.
There is no wiggle room with Jesus. He wants a believer to walk by faith and be obedient to all His commands regardless of the personal cost or lack of logic.
Listening to Jesus is easy. Every believer has the mind of Christ.
Submit to the authority of the Holy Spirit and invite Him to fill you with the thoughts of Jesus.
This will put a Christian in personal contact with the Living Christ and his or her life will never be the same!
