Leviticus 17:11 “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls”.
The Holy Spirit spoke to me last night about the importance of atonement. This is how we get right with God.
The blood of Jesus washes away your sins and restores you to God.
There is no one who can stand before God as a righteous man. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
We are born with an inner nature to defy God and live for self.
We are contaminated with sin and unacceptable to God.
This condition can only be changed by becoming “born again” with a new identity. The decision for Jesus transforms a human being into a new creature in Christ.
However, we are self driven people with big egos and need to make amends for our sins every day of our life.
The need for atonement comes by the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus sees the inner core of a believer and confronts him over his thoughts and actions.
Reclamation is the redeeming work of God. Jesus restores His righteous nature that has slipped away from a believer because of sin.
The Holy Spirit is how you can stay aligned with Jesus. Submit to His authority and invite Him to guide your thoughts and decision making.
Thank God for the blood of Jesus. It is life saving!
