“Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.” 1 Peter 3:11

The Holy Spirit spoke this flagship verse to me last night and said this is My standard for a Christian. 

The challenge for a Christian is this instruction is impossible to do without help from Jesus.

We cannot live by the standards of Jesus through intellect, self discipline or religion. We will fail Jesus time and again. 

We are broken people who desire to live for self and defy the ways of God. We can avoid evil and live an upright life through prayer, reading the Bible and listening for the voice of Jesus.

We can seek peace by praying for the good, acceptable and perfect will of Jesus.

We can’t see the depth of our personality and inner nature. This is why we need the Holy Spirit to convict and correct our thoughts and actions.

The Holy Spirit knows you better than you know yourself and desires to guide a Christian into the pathway of Jesus. We must submit to the authority of the Holy Spirit and live under His guidance.

Commit your works each day to Jesus and walk by faith trusting in His promises.

Jesus desires to be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your pathway.

Let go and let Jesus have His way in your life!
