“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Luke 6:31

This is one of the most important commands of Jesus. 

We cannot do this with our human nature at birth as we are built with big egos and a desire to satisfy self.

Jesus is telling you and me to value others above ourselves. How do we do this?

We have to be a Christian walking by faith and grounded in the Holy Spirit.

We deal with others as a new creature in Christ.

We live under the authority of the Holy Spirit and invite Him to transform us into the character and personality of Jesus.

We die to self and are baptized into the death and resurrection of Jesus. 

Here are qualities of a Christian dealing with others:

We do not boast about our life because we have the power and promises of God at work to meet our every need.

We are meek and humble people.

We do not criticize or condemn others. 

We speak the counsel of Jesus without prejudice or any bias.

We speak words filled with the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, forbearance (tolerance and patience), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. 

We take a serious and concerned attitude about the life of others.

We pray for those with troubles or personal issues.

We honor and respect others like we would want to be regarded. 

We operate with the love of Jesus which is unconditional with pure motives.

We are a powerful light for Jesus filled with the Living Water.
