How to make Jesus your best friend!

“He who loves purity of heart and has grace on his lips, the king will be his friend.” Proverbs 23:11

This is the word from the Holy Spirit today and instructs believers how to develop a personal and embracing friendship with Jesus built on faith and obedience.

A Christian cannot attain purity of heart without asking for the blood of Jesus to cover all his sins and giving Jesus permission to transform him completely into a new creature in Christ. This is giving up your control and rights to Jesus.

Jesus wants relationship with a believer not religion. Jesus sets people free from the bondage of sin and religion attempts to control through laws, works and regulations.

Jesus is very accessible and desires to be a living reality and present in all the moments of a believer’s life.

The instructions of Jesus are to have a pure heart and speak words of love and kindness to all those in your life.

The Christ follower must recognize his inner nature at birth has been corrupted and causes him to live for self and deny God. This defect cannot be fixed on earth. The believer is covered with mud and can never get clean.

The decision for Jesus is to die to self and live for the Most High without any exclusions. Jesus becomes the centerpiece of our life and we walk in oneness with Him anchored to the Holy Spirit.

This action will baptize a believer into the death and resurrection of Jesus. He will have a new identity (or born again experience) and the Holy Spirit will begin the process of transforming the believer into the character and values of Jesus.

We are instructed to seek the perfect will of Jesus for our life through the discipline of prayer, reading the Bible and listening for the voice of Jesus.

The Christ follower must submit to the authority of the Holy Spirit and invite Him to have control over all his thoughts and actions. This decision is crucial if a believer wants the fullness and reality of the Living Christ to envelop his life.

The unconditional love of Jesus must be in all of our words spoken to others. This love comes from the Holy Spirit and values others above self and is never boastful.

Pray each day for Jesus to fill you with a fountain of Living Water and make you a powerful witness for Him through your demeanor and words.

Friendship with Jesus comes to those who walk with steadfast faith and are obedient to the instructions of Jesus regardless of the personal cost or lack of logic.

Jesus values your friendship and desires to give you an abundant life filled with His goodness!
