“The Lord has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all.” Psalm 103:19

The Holy Spirit spoke to me about the sovereignty of God this morning and how this word defines Jesus. There is no way a human being can have a relationship with Jesus unless they accept He is a sovereign God.

I researched this subject and found this definition of God spoken by Job. 

“I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.” Job 42:3 

God is the highest authority in the universe and no one can block His will. Making a decision for Jesus is accepting His sovereignty and seeking His will for your life.

Jesus is not going to defend His reputation or attempt to justify His authority. God told Moses to introduce Him as “I Am” referring to His supreme power over the Heavens and Earth. 

Whether you are a Christian or non believer makes no difference to Jesus. We accept the authority of Jesus by faith and are instructed to seek His will for our lives. There is no wiggle room in this decision. We have to commit all to Jesus without any exclusions. If a man or woman desires the fullness of Jesus they must live by “Not my will but Yours be done.”

Jesus is very accessible. Anyone can reach out to Jesus and ask Him to substantiate His sovereignty. Jesus will respond resolutely that He is the great “I AM” and there will never be a doubt again about His supremacy.

Jesus communicates with people through dreams, visions and signs and wonders. 

Jesus might show you a burning bush which has no fire or walk on water. Jesus might transform dead human bones into new life. Nothing is impossible for Jesus. 

God speaks to His people. He even spoke through a stubborn mule. The Christ follower has the mind of Jesus and can have a consistent dialogue with Him. This happens through the Holy Spirit who is the life of Christ and alive in every believer.

Now is the time for all Christians to submit to the authority of the Holy Spirit and commit your works each day to Jesus. Take Jesus seriously!

This will bring you into the reality and presence of our mighty God!
