Listening to Jesus or gambling with your life!

“For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me,’ says the Lord, ‘that they may become My people, for renown, for praise, and for glory; but they would not hear.” Jeremiah 13:11

Every decision I have made in my life without seeking the counsel and voice of Jesus was disastrous. Here is how you can avoid this consequence!

It is impossible to have a deep relationship with Jesus if you do not hear His voice. The believer will just get mired into a religion of laws, works, and regulations. The exciting news is a Christian can wake up each day and hear the voice of Jesus.

Jesus speaks to His people. This is truth and is validated in the Bible. The Israelites were favored  by God but were destroyed because they would not listen to God. The stern warning of Jeremiah fell on deaf ears.

The believer has the mind of Christ and Jesus desires to have a consistent dialogue with His people. How can this happen since Jesus is in Heaven with His Father?

Jesus desires to have a personal and symbiotic relationship with a Christian built on faith and obedience. He desires to guide your decision making and protect you from evil. He speaks to His people but unfortunately most do not listen for His voice. It is impossible to walk in oneness with Jesus unless you hear and obey His voice.

The Christ follower cannot find the perfect will of Jesus unless He is in contact with Him.

The secret to hearing the voice of Jesus is to come to Him with an uncluttered mind and in a spirit of worship and adoration.

Most importantly, a Christian must invite the Holy Spirit to have authority over His life.

This will engage the Holy Spirit who is sealed in every believer and is the life of Christ to fill you with His thoughts. The Living Christ will be present and alive in all the moments of life. He will bring order and simplicity into each day.

The Holy Spirit will anoint a Christian and equip him or her with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This is how to become a powerful witness for Jesus to those in your life. They will see the renown, praise and glory of Jesus in your demeanor and words.

I discovered a long time ago how to determine the spiritual maturity of a Christian by asking him one question. What is Jesus saying to you?
