“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.” Romans 13:1-2

This is about how to deal with evil or twisted authority figures and survive. If you take matters into your own hands look out for trouble is coming. Jesus is your mediator.

We may not respect or condone the authority of those who rule over us but we have to obey them. This includes government leaders, your employer and the laws in place.

We do not have to submit to Satan or his evil tactics. We belong to God but must obey the authorities in our society.

This is a sticky subject because we live in the End Times and Satan has infiltrated our society.

We do not have to submit to anyone masquerading as godly leader who is a counterfeit god and urges a believer to worship him. 

The best way to navigate through this authority mess and make good decisions is submitting to the Holy Spirit. He speak for Jesus and sees all the motives of the leaders in society. He will give you perfect wisdom and protection. Take every conflict with those in authority captive to the obedience of Jesus. The Holy Spirit will provide the perfect counsel of Jesus. 

The warning from Jesus comes in Proverbs 19:12.

“The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, But his favor is like dew on the grass.” 

If a Christian incurs the anger of an authority figure he will face punishment. We want the favor of the authority figures so we can have peace and freedom to be successful.
